The length of time it takes to see results from couples therapy sessions are varied. Typically, the therapy runs for 6-12 sessions but can be more or less depending on your goals. My aim is to make good use of our time together, working systemically to identify the difficulties, de-escalate conflicts and improve communication, and work through the emotional layers to re-build trust and find a way forward. 


Therapy sessions are 1-hour or 90-minutes.  

Fees for online therapy: 

•60-minute couples therapy £70
•90-minute couples therapy £105 

Fees for in-person therapy

•60-minute couples therapy £85
•90-minute couples therapy £130


This is a common concern, especially when the difficulties are complex or spanning many years. Or even when there are simple but stubborn issues to work through. Either way, I will guide you throughout, using my training and experience to ask the right questions, open up the conversation and provide you - equally - with space to be heard.


Our lives are often busy and our relationships can take a back seat when we have so many other commitments. That, and how quickly attempts to communicate can go wrong, can feed into an endless loop of conflict or distance. Couples therapy sets aside a unique space that is all about the two of you, your experiences in the relationship and your un-met needs. Having an understanding trained professional to guide you is not only beneficial to the relationship, but to each of you individually. Coming to know yourself better can be transformative.


This is a super-informal get-together, held on-line via Zoom video call, that lasts for around 20-minutes. This gives you opportunity to share your hopes for therapy and for me to explain how I would work with what you bring. We can look at our availability, figure out if online or in-person therapy is right for you and finally, you can ask me any questions you might have.  This is a good first step for couples to get a feel for how ongoing therapy sessions will be. There is no fee for consultations.


Homework .. shudder! The short answer is you do not 'have' to do anything. I will offer ideas and exercises that can really bring focus, depth and closeness (when you are feeling ready to increase intimacy, for example) to a couple in therapy. For example, after our first session together, I will offer you both a brief sheet titled 'I need more. I need less'. This is a super simple exercise where you can highlight from a list of needs what feels missing from your life and relationships. Alongside that is a list of things you might be finding difficult or stressful. A simple tick box exercise like this can really cut to the heart of your desires, longings and stressors. And are entirely optional!
